Privacy

Apexia Poll is run by Apexia Group Limited. This page explains what we store and why.

Creating polls

You don't need an account. When you create a poll we store the poll itself and a salted hash of your IP address (used only to limit abuse; the address itself is not kept). A cookie on your device remembers the private management links of polls you've made so you can find them again.

Signing in

If you sign in with your Apexia account we keep your Apexia user ID, name, email address and profile picture so we can show your polls to you. Your account itself is managed at my.apexia.uk.

Voting

When you vote we store your answer, a random token in a cookie (so you can change your vote and so the creator can limit duplicate votes), a salted hash of your IP address, and your name if the poll asks for it. If the poll requires an Apexia account, your vote is linked to it. Names are shown to other voters and the creator as part of the results. Poll creators can see and export the votes on their polls but never IP addresses.

Cookies

A session cookie protects forms and keeps signed-in users signed in; two long-lived cookies hold your voter token and your list of created polls. No advertising or tracking cookies. If a poll has bot protection turned on, the check (provided by Cloudflare) may set its own cookie.

Deleting data

Creators can delete polls (and every vote on them) at any time. To remove your vote from a poll, contact the creator or support@apexia.uk.
